Letters from Yorick to Eliza

PAGE NOTES:

Letter 5 [London, March 1767]

Yorick tells Eliza how to tune* her piano and that he has got her the necessary implements. He has also bought her clothes hooks for the cabin, but has retained a couple to put up in Coxwold as a reminder of her. He has arranged with the Deal pilot to supply an armchair for her voyage and thinks this may be his last letter.

* The word ‘bass’ on line 9 is a misprint and should read, as in the recording, ‘brass’.
